![]() To stain the webbing, you lay it flat and evenly apply the stain. The stain helped bring out a warmer color in the cane webbing and looks great against the black bookcase. The only thing I did differently was that I stained the cane webbing prior to cutting it. This hack was so easy and I followed THIS tutorial. To wrap this up, I am now a huge fan! So between the makeovers that required lots of tools and the budget I decided to put this cane idea on the back burner. This ONE from Urban Outfitters is gorgeous but runs around $800 dollars. I had searched for a reasonably priced cane cabinet already made but found most of them to be on the pricey side. Most of them included making brand new doors and using tools that I didn’t have on hand. I had seen cane cabinet makeovers all over the internet.
